Construction of Affordable Housing for Elderly on Track for June Completion

HUD LogoIn 2009 the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) received $9,879,750 in Recovery funds to help fund the construction of an affordable housing facility for the elderly in Hagerstown, Maryland. The award amount is the largest given to any Housing Authority in Maryland.

The four-story complex which is walking distance of downtown Hagerstown, will have 60 one bedroom, one bathroom apartments.  The project is on track for completion next month.

    This is great…I am also a big fan of green buildings. I think it is really important to install environmentally friendly features into all modern buildings. Would be nice to see a picture of the complex completed.

    The place looks amazing! And it is so nice to have affordable housing for the elderly in a good, walkable location for a change. What a great project.
